VOLUNTEER >> Application Process
Our volunteer application procedure will match your skills, interests and availability with the needs of our volunteer opportunities. Here's how it works:
- Check out the website www.hbspca.com or our Volunteer Openings List at the shelter for current opportunities. If one sounds right for you, pick up an application package from the shelter.
- Return the completed forms in a sealed envelope along with a letter that identifies the position to which you are applying and your skills and experience. Please write 'Volunteer Application' on the outside of the envelope.
- Apply for a police record check (you will get a form at your interview). The cost is $15 with the letter you will get from us.
- Participate in orientation and training sessions specific to your volunteer role.
- Meet your team leader and sign up for your volunteer shifts
- Arrange for photo date at shelter for your new ID badge.
- Start your new, fulfilling opportunity to make a huge difference in your community.
- Receive ongoing feedback and a 6 month review.
- Make an enormous difference in the lives of others.
